Kumarathunga munidasa Poetry...❤️

Kumaratunga Munidasa was a pioneer Sri Lankan (Sinhalese) linguist, grammarian, commentator, writer, poet, and journalist. Munidasa was born on 25th July, 1887 in Dickwella, Mathara. He first studied at the Dikwella Buddhist School. Then he attended St. Thomas' College, Matara. Later, he entered the Government Teachers' College in Colombo. He graduated in 1907. His first appointment was as a government teacher in Bilingual School of Bomiriya. Later he was promoted to principal of the Kadugannawa Bilingual School. After eleven years he was promoted to inspector of schools, which he held for four years. He founded the Hela Havula movement which sought to remove Sanskrit influences in the Sinhala language and to promote its correct usage. He is one of the most celebrated scholars in Sri Lanka. He is known best for his deep knowledge of the Sinhala language and literary work. He wrote his first book in his school days; “Nikaya Sangraha Vivaranaya”. He revived Lakminipahana and started Subasa and Helio magazines. He had written many books. Heenseraya, Hathpana, Kriya Wiwaranaya, Magul Keema, Nelawilla etc. are some of them.
His concepts on Sri Lankan history, language and literature have been debatable. He emphasized and encouraged the use of the letter "ඇ". And he argued that Vijaya was merely an invader and believed in Ravana. He died on 2nd of March, 1944 at the age of 56 in Panadura. He had written many books. Heenseraya, Hathpana, Kriya Wiwaranaya, Magul Keema, Nelawilla etc. are some of them.
